Seeker Fans Celebrating Stars’ Birthdays

February 1, 2013

Due to two consecutive bouts of influenza January was not a very productive month for me. I missed celebrating Craig Horner’s birthday with other fans.

Fans will be celebrating Bridget Regan’s birthday on Sunday, February 3, 2013. You can learn more about the Tweetathon on this Facebook page.

For those of you who don’t have Facebook accounts (I don’t blame you) here is an excerpt:

► ► Celebrate Bridget Regan’s Birthday with a NEW Tweetathon this Sunday, February 3rd/2013 ◄ ◄
- – Hashtag #BridgetReganBDay
(click on SEE MORE to see all of the information)

⇨ This time, we will be tweeting the Hashtag #BridgetReganBDay :)
(We’ve previously trended #BridgetRegan, and #BridgetReganBirthday, so we needed to change the hashtag)

► This is a 24-HOUR TWEETATHON around the WORLD
(**including a 2-hour “POWER WINDOW” from 12Noon to 2PM Pacific Time)
The 24 HOUR Tweetathon begins as soon as February 3rd begins in your country – at 12:00 AM,
and ends on 12:00 AM on Monday, February 4th – but you can always tweet longer if you want to. :)

I’m not sure how much I can participate but I wanted to make sure I helped spread the word.

BTW — I have noticed a lot of original programming promotions on Hulu. We should probably start discussing a campaign to try to bring the right people together to discuss a possible revival on Hulu. If you have a Hulu+ account (it’s only about $10 a month) you may be able to help influence their production decisions. I do have a Hulu+ account and will be glad to work with other Hulu+ users to lobby for a LOTS program on the service.

Just keep in mind that my schedule can be a bit wacky.

Tabrett Bethell Is Now on Twitter

September 21, 2012

UPDATE: Oct 27, 2012: I don’t think this account was ever confirmed. Sorry.

Received an interesting and encouraging Tweet the other day from @TabrettBethell1. Yes, folks, I believe that is the lovely Mord’Sith herself. As of this writing she has only 3 followers. By the time I get back from a short trip this weekend I hope she has more followers than @SeekerFans (we’re up to just over 400).

Spread the word. Let the joyous news be spread: Our Tabrett Bethell Twitter drought at last is dead!

Legend of the Seeker fans Celebrating Mother Confessor Day 2012

May 13, 2012

If you have not yet seen the notices around the Web and on Twitter and Facebook, fans of Legend of the Seeker are celebrating Mother Confessor Day today (May 13, 2012) from 12 Noon to 3 PM Pacific Time on Twitter.

You should also check out this Facebook Mother Confessor Day Event Page.

You can learn more about how the fans are putting this Tweetathon together in this LOTS.Org Forum Post or this Confessor and Seeker Society Forum Post.

If you cannot participate in the Tweetathon directly but have a little time to schedule some Tweets, you can use HootSuite or Tweetdeck to do so. Tweetdeck now allows you to schedule Tweets directly from the Web.

This year we’re asking that fans help promote non-profit organizations that benefit mothers and families while celebrating Mother Confessor Day. It’s okay to send @bridgetregan (Bridget Regan) or @daynastunts (Dayna Porter Chiplin) (Dayna was Bridget’s stunt double) a single congratulatory Tweet but our focus this year is on raising awareness of Legend of the Seeker fan campaigns and support for mothers’ organizations.

I apologize for waiting until the last minute to write this blog post. I thought I had done it already (long story, no time to share).

Remember to support the Save Our Seeker campaign and help persuade a network to pick up production on this great show. We have more hope than ever because online services are starting to pick up production on sophisticated genre shows.

Legend of the Seeker ran for two seasons in syndicated television markets around the world. The show was cancelled because the Tribune Company went into bankruptcy and elected to purchase less expensive programming, thus depriving LOTS of 1/3 of its American TV audience. Legend of the Seeker is based on Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series of novels.

Legend of the Seeker fans trend on Twitter

April 27, 2012

Yesterday, April 26, was #savetheseeker day on Twitter as far as fans of Legend of the Seeker were concerned. They turned out in force and brought along a lot of friends and new fans to promote the campaign to bring the show back.

Laura (@sot_fan) from Save Our Seeker shared the following screen captures with everyone to show that the Tweets hit the number 3 ranking in the US and number 29 Worldwide.

Legend of the Seeker fans hit the number 3 spot on Twitter with #savetheseeker on April 26, 2012.

The next Twitter campaign being planned is for May 13, 2012 — Mother Confessor Day. You can help make it a special one by suggesting your ideas in the LOTS.org forum or at the Confessor and Seeker Society.

Hope for reviving the television series is building up as companies like Netflix and Hulu announce more original programming for their online services. Sure, we’d love to get a broadcast network to pick up the show — or even to entice a film studio into making a movie — but millions of fans just want to see the Seeker and Mother Confessor back in action, and the Internet is starting to prove itself as a real video entertainment medium.

Thanks to all the fans who turned out for to Save the Seeker yesterday. Laura is already working on new ideas. Be on the lookout for more initiatives.

And don’t forget that the April 2012 Save Our Seeker Contest is still running. You can still enter.

Legend of the Seeker starred Craig Horner and Bridget Regan. Be sure to follow them on Twitter. ABC Studios still owns the rights to the show, according to Terry Goodkind (author of the Sword of Truth novels upon which the show was based); we need to show them that we’re not going away.

Legend of the Seeker Fans Organizing April 26, 2012 Tweetathon

April 22, 2012

If you’re wondering whether Legend of the Seeker fans are hibernating, wonder no more. They have two Tweetathons coming up. The first is scheduled for April 26, which is later this week. You can read all the details at the Confessor and Seeker Society’s Save Our Seeker forum and the LOTS.org Save Our Seeker Forum.

Here is the opening part of Laura’s (SOT_FAN) message to Seeker fan everywhere. You’ll need to click on one of the links above to read the full message:

Please save the date!

We’ll be twitting the hashtag: #SaveTheSeeker on Twitter, Thursday, April 26 to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the Save Our Seeker campaign. It’s been that long and we’re still fighting.

The Tweetathon starts at 12:00 noon PDT and ends at 2:00 pm PDT. You can check your time zone here.

To have better chances of trending #SaveTheSeeker worldwide, please focus your tweets (or schedule your tweets) between 12 noon and 2pm Pacific (USA) Daylight Time. Supposedly, if we also start tweeting a couple of minutes before the set time of 12 noon, there’s a better chance of jump-starting the trend, so please give that a try too.

Please Spread the word on LiveJournal, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Forums, deviantArt, You Tube, etc..

I cannot help but feel flattered that the hashtag this time is “#savetheseeker” although I doubt it had anything to do with this blog. Unfortunately, it seems that Twitter has a long memory and you’re not allowed to reboot old hash tags if you want to trend.

At least, that is my understanding.

The goal here is to get the hashtag to trend so that people around the world see it and click on it.

We have a 2-hour window in which to conduct the Tweetathon. The more people who join in, the better. You can use services like Tweetdeck and Hootsuite (to name just 2 of many) to schedule your Tweets in advance. Some fans have 2 or 3 Twitter accounts so they can switch between them when their accounts are temporarily blocked by Twitter (this is sometimes lovingly referred to as “Twitter Jail”).

The other upcoming Twitter event is the May 13 Mother Confessor Day Tweetathon. We held one two years ago that was immensely successful. This year Bridget Regan has 2 reasons to celebrate the day — She is now a mommy in real life.

Please check out the discussions at LOTS.org and the Confessor and Seeker Society. I’m soliciting ideas and feedback, and I want to make sure everyone knows about the Mother Confessor Day Tweetathon.

BTW — just so I mention Craig Horner in this article, remember that he now has an official Craig Horner Twitter Account. Craig recently announced that he had wrapped up filming the “Joey Dakota” pilot. Of course, we all wish him well and much success — but we’re also hoping to see him come back as Richard Cypher/Rahl.

Of course, if you’re not following the @seekerfans account on Twitter you should be — you’ve be reminded almost daily about both Tweetathons. :)

Hope to see you there. After all, we’re here to Save Our Seeker and bring about a third season of Legend of the Seeker. No one goes home until the job is done.
